Speaking about the release of English Vinglish in Germany, director Gauri Shinde said the following in an official statement. “I am extremely happy that EV (English Vinglish) is spreading across continents. My last visit to Berlin the response for the film was overwhelming during a festival and now I look forward eagerly to the countrywide response.”
Pranab Kapadia, who is Eros International’s President – Marketing and Distribution, added to the comments surrounding its German release.
“English Vinglish is a global triumph and continues to entice audiences across the world since its release with its universal theme. With such fantastic response pouring in from every territory that we have released the film in, we are confident of opening up further new avenues for exhibition”.
English Vinglish is based on the story of a middle-class Indian woman, who is determined to learn the English language during a visit to New York for her niece’s wedding. It received unanimous acclaim upon release and won a number of awards also.
